The Park Sky Treks are designed for the adventure traveler wanting to see and experience Alaska’s National Parks, preserves and Wildlife Refuges. From wild rivers, glacier filled valleys, active volcanoes, diverse wildlife, native culture and historic sites Alaska’s National Parks have it all.
National Parks, preserves, monuments, historic areas and wildlife refuges that may be featured are Aniakchak, Denali, Gates of the Arctic, Glacier Bay, Katmai, Kenai Fjords, Klondike Gold Rush, Lake Clarke, Sitka, Wrangell-St Elias, Yukon Charley, Kodiak, Togiak and Becharof /Alaska Peninsula. These lands encompass thousands of square miles and are quickly accessed by aircraft. National Parks and Wildlife Refuges in Alaska offer some of the most diverse and wild wilderness areas on the planet.
Park Treks can be custom designed to visit any park in Alaska. For many years we have custom designed treks for people participating in the Passport Program and flown to all corners of the state in search of the official stamp of the park. Southwest Alaska Park Trek
On this three day trek travelers will begin their journey from Anchorage at the Lake Hood Seaplane base. Traveling southwest, the targeted park is Lake Clark National Park. The highlight of the first day is to see the famous cabin of Dick Proeneke located at Twin Lakes. Day two takes you to the Katmai National Park and Preserve where we will witness brown bear at Brooks Falls, and later fly on to the Valley of 10,000 Smokes. Day three brings you to the pristine coastal areas located on the eastern boundaries of the Katmai National Park. Your return trip to Anchorage follows the shore along Kamishak and Cook Inlet. You will view active volcanoes Augustine, Illiamna and Redoubt on the final leg of this epic adventure. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at wilderness lodges or B&B’s.
Day 1: Anchorage – Lake Clarke National Park
Day 2: Lake Clarke National Park – Katmai National Park
Day 3: Eastern Katmai National Park – Kamishak - Cook Inlet - Anchorage
