This Sky Trek tour package was originally designed for an Iditarod guest who wanted to explore the Bering Sea Coast and the Brooks Range beyond Nome and travel above the Arctic Circle following the Iditarod finish.
A Sky Trek for the true adventurer, we will travel across some of the most remote regions of the Earth and visit Inupiat eskimo villages and wilderness areas few will ever see.
By late March, the Arctic days are becoming long again with 12-14 hours of daylight which often presents some of Spring’s best weather. A fabulous time for photography and outdoor winter sports!
Highlights include seeing historic Nome and the wildlife of the Seward Peninsula and the Brooks Range. Visiting remote Inupiat Eskimo villages to meet artists and people living an authentic hunting and gathering lifestyle, while traveling to the northernmost city in America, 350 miles above the Arctic Circle. Enjoy dog sledding in the Brooks Range, viewing incredible displays of Northern Lights and traveling across hundreds of miles of remote wilderness including that of the Arctic Coastal Plain and Gates of the Arctic National Park. If we are lucky we will see Polar Bears during the Barrow day trip and while flight-seeing.
